Reporting something

Send us a notice that includes all of the following:

• What the work is, and where the original lives.
• The exact URL on FATCOMMA where the copy is, and a timestamp if it is inside a stream or a recording.
• Your name, your address and an email address we can reply to.
• A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law.
• A statement that the information is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them.
• Your signature, typed is fine.

A notice missing any of that will slow things down, because we cannot act on a report we cannot verify.

What we do with it

We remove or disable access to the material, and we tell the person who posted it what was removed and who reported it, including your notice.

Deliberately false claims cause real damage to creators, and we treat them as seriously as we treat infringement.

Challenging a removal

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that the use was permitted, send us a counter notice with the material identified, where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, your contact details, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live.

We pass it to the person who reported it. If they do not go to court, we may put the material back.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly have material removed for infringement are closed. That is not a threat, it is how the platform stays available to everybody else.
